The Asian markets have opened in the negative after a few days of mixed trades.
Japanese stocks lost ground early as the market returned from a holiday, with tech shares trading lower after a loss in the Nasdaq overnight. The benchmark Nikkei fell 0.7% to 10,273.
Hang Seng is flat at 22,884. The index is propped due to the energy shares but bank scrips may pull the index in the red.
Shanghai Composite, Jakarta Composite and Taiwan Weighted is trading down 0.2% each. KLSE Composite and Seoul Composite are trading flat at 1,512 and 2,036 respectively.
However, the only exception is Straits Times up 0.2% at 3,144.
