The Hang Seng has rallied 299 points to 13,921. The Nikkei has gained 43 points at 8,523.
The Taiwan Weighted index has slipped 11 points to 5,335. The Straits Times index has moved up 38 points to 1,730, and the Seoul Composite index has added five points to 1,234.
The Shanghai Composite index is up 17 points at 2,307.
