Asian mkts track US losses; China bucks trend

 Japan's Nikkei has dropped 142 points to 17,899, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 153 points to 20,665.

The Straits Times index has slipped 10 points to 3553. The Taiwan Weighted and the Seoul Composite indices are down around four points each at 8311 and 1738, respectively.
