Asian Paints is biggest gainer in A group

Decorative paints maker Asian Paints gained 2.03 per cent to Rs 1,059.90 and was the biggest gainer in the A group. Over 62,000 shares changed hands against the two-week average traded quantity of 24,000.

The company will report its Q3 December 2007 results on 29 January. It's net sales rose by 18 per cent y-o-y to Rs 1,631 crore, operating profits increased by 30 per cent to Rs 301 crore and net profit went up by 34 per cent to Rs 182 crore in the half year ended September 2007.
