AstraZeneca Pharma India has surged 10% to Rs 809 on NSE after reporting a net profit of Rs 1.52 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013 (Q3FY14). The pharmaceutical company had posted loss of Rs 17.70 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
Total income from operations of the company grew by 13.3% at Rs 119 crore for the quarter against Rs 105 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year, while total expenditure declined by 3.25% yoy at Rs 119 core.
The company has reported operating profit of Rs 2.97 crore against loss of Rs 15.37 crore during the recently concluded quarter.
The stock opened at Rs 757 and touched high of Rs 814 on the NSE. A combined around 91,000 shares changed hands on the counter till 0935 hours on the NSE and BSE.
