The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was down 0.50 per cent to 833.64 on July 7 in early morning trades in the western markets. Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs), five advanced, one remained unchanged and one lost ground.
 
The major gainers were Hindalco, up 4.82 per cent to $23.90, Ranbaxy Labs, up 3.45 per cent to $21.00, registering volume of 53,000 GDRs and ITC, up 3.38 per cent to $21.40, registering volume 41,349 GDRs. The only loser was Bajaj Auto, down 0.20 per cent to $20.04.
 
The ISDI representing the GDRs and ADRs of 15 actively-traded companies, eased further by 0.61 per cent to 830.37 on the previous day while the ISDI price to earnings ratio also edged down by 0.13 per cent to 14.85 from 14.87.
 
Among ISDI ADRs, three advanced and five lost ground among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were seven gainers, seven losers and one ruled steady.
 
The major gainers were MTNL, up 2.13 per cent to $7.18, HDFC Bank, up 1.47 per cent to $27.53 and VSNL, up 0.39 per cent to $7.80. The major losers were Satyam Computer, down 5.26 per cent to $17.47, ICICI Bank, down 3.53 per cent to $11.48 and Infosys Tech, down 2.38 per cent to $93.22.
 
The GDRs of Hindalco, Bajaj Auto and Ranbaxy firmed up to $23.90, $20.88 and $20.50, respectively, from $22.55, $19.75 and $19.91, previously.
 
Meanwhile elsewhere in the world US stock-index futures were little changed. Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in September shed 0.80 to 1,114.20. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures lost 11 to 10,192, and Nasdaq-100 Index futures slipped to 1,451.50.
 
The Morgan Stanley Capital International Asia-Pacific Index, which tracks more than 900 stocks in the region, gained 0.1 per cent to 90.15.
 
Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 0.8 per cent and the Topix index slipped 0.8 per cent, completing its longest losing streak in more than five months.
 
Benchmarks rose in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, while others fell or were little changed.
