Barley prices dipped by Rs 10.20, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 1,234 per quintal in futures trade today on increased selling by speculators in line with weak spot market sentiment.

Marketmen said mounting stocks along with slack demand from beer and cattle feed makers in physical markets, put weight on the futures prices of barley.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, barley prices for October contract dipped Rs 10.20, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 1,234 per quintal, with an open interest of 720 lots.

August contract eased by Rs 2.80, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 1,197.60 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,270 lots.
