Barley prices rose by Rs 12.20 to Rs 1,353 per quintal in futures trading today following fresh buying in line with firm spot markets trend.
At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delivery in May went up by Rs 12.20, or 0.91% to Rs 1,353 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,670 lots.
Barley for delivery in June also rose by Rs 10.80, or 0.78% to Rs 1,390 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,410 lots.
Market analysts said strong demand from beer and cattle-feed making industries in physical markets mainly influenced the trading sentiments here.
