Base metals advance on global cues

Most of the base metals advanced further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained demand from stockists supported by a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).  

Meanwhile, brass sheet cutting edged down on lower offtake from consumer industries. 

Nickel hardened by Rs 15 per kilo to Rs 1,130 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,115 and tin rose Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,280 as against Rs 1,275 yesterday. 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar all moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 399, Rs 391 and Rs 427 respectively.

Copper utensils scrap, copper sheet cutting and brass utensils scrap inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 362, Rs 374 and Rs 267.

However, brass sheet cutting softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 272 from Rs 273 previously.
