Base metals continue to ease on weak demand

Most of the base metals eased further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to continued stockists offering amidst reduced industrial demand on the back bearish trend in London Metal Exchange (LME). 

Meanwhile, zinc edged up on mild support from alloy industries. 

Tin dropped by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 1,690 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,697 and brass utensils scrap declined by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 308 as against Rs 312 previously.

Brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 317 from Rs 320 yesterday. Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both eased by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 472 and Rs 500.

Copper scrap heavy and copper sheet cutting softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 462 and Rs 443. However, zinc inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 134.
