Base metals decline on lower industrial demand

Base metals declined in the non-ferrous metal market here on poor industrial demand despite firming trend in overseas markets.

Meanwhile, copper utensils scrap edged up on better offtake from consumer industries.

Nickel and tin prices fell by Rs 5 per kilo each to Rs 1,150 and Rs 1,335 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 1,155 and Rs 1,335, respectively.

Zinc prices moved down by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 124 as against Rs 127 last Saturday. Copper sheet cutting eased by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 378 from Rs 380 previously. 

Copper scrap heavy edged down by a rupee per kilo to Rs 390. However, copper utensils scrap inched up a rupee per kilo to Rs 359.
