Nickel, tin, zinc and select copper prices dropped at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists selling following subdued trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

While, lead moved up slightly on stray demand.

The industrial metals traded almost steady at the LME impacted by China's producer price index (PPI) data which rose 6.8% in April from a year ago, indicating further hike in interest rates and reduce demand for the metals.

Nickel declined by Rs 13 per kilo to Rs 1,287 from its overnight closing level of Rs 1,300 and tin fell by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 1,540 as compared to Rs 1,550 previously.

Copper scrap heavy moved down by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 449.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar and zinc also softened by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 455, Rs 443, Rs 483 and Rs 123 respectively.

However, lead inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 127.
