Base metals continued to slide at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists offloading on the back heavy losses in London Metal Exchange (LME).
The industrial metals tumbled to a five-month low at the LME, on concerns over slow economic growth that led sell off in commodities amidst release of US non-farm payrolls data later today.
Tin prices tanked by Rs 50 per kilo to Rs 1,540 from yesterday's closing level of 1,590 and nickel by Rs 45 per kilo to Rs 1,275 as compared to Rs 1,320 previously.
Copper scrap heavy dropped by Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 444 as against Rs 452 yesterday.
Copper armiture, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all dipped by Rs 7 per kilo each to Rs 438, Rs 487 and Rs 435 respectively.
Copper cable scrap declined by Rs 6 per kilo to Rs 459, copper utensils scrap by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 412, zinc by Rs 4 per kilo to Rs 123, brass utensils scrap by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 308 and lead also softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 125.
