Base metals rebounds on industrial offtake

Base metals rebounded at the non-ferrous metal market here today on hectic demand from from stockists amid good industrial offtake, despite bearish trend in London Metal Exchange (LME). 

The industrial metal declined at the LME over strengthening dollar and uncertainty ahead of US economic data release.  

Copper sheet cutting shot-up by Rs 9 per kg to Rs 450 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 441 and brass sheet cutting spurted by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 325 as against Rs 318 in the previous session.

Nickel, aluminium utensils scrap and copper scrap heavy all rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,340, Rs 111 and Rs 460, respectively as compared to Rs 1,335, Rs 106 and Rs 455. 

Copper cable scrap, copper armature and copper wire bar all gained by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 468, Rs 451 and Rs 496.

Copper utensils scrap, aluminium ingots and lead moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 423, Rs 143 and Rs 127. Brass utensils scrap also edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 314.
