Base metals recovers on global cues

Most of the base metals recovered at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to fresh industrial buying support coupled with higher advices from London Metal Exchange (LME).

However, aluminium ingots and aluminum utensil scrap moved down on poor offtake.

Nickel and tin prices firmed up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,180 and Rs 1,335 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,175 and Rs. 1,330.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and brass utensil scarp rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 452, 480 and 299 respectively. 

Copper scarp heavy, copper amiture, copper sheet cuttings, brass sheet cutting and Lead all moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 442, Rs 433, Rs 432, Rs 312 and Rs 118 respectively.

Zinc inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 123 from Rs 122 yesterday.

However, aluminium ingots declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 130 from 135 previously and aluminium utensil Scrap also softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 105
