Meanwhile, aluminium eased on reduced offtake from consumer industries.
Nickel prices shot up by Rs 18 per kilo to Rs 1,195 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,177 and copper sheet cutting spurted by Rs 7 per kilo to Rs 400 as against Rs 393 previously.
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both rose by Rs 4 per kilo each to Rs 423 and Rs 451 from Rs 419 and Rs 447 yesterday.
Copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 415, Rs 376 and Rs 284.
Copper armiture edged up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 402 and brass utensils scrap inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 272.
However, aluminium utensils scrap softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 101.
