Base metals rise on persistent industrial demand

Most of the base metals continued to move up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on persistent industrial buying as well as good stockists offtake.

Meanwhile, nickel and lead prices eased due to subdued demand from consumer industries.  

Tin prices hardened by Rs 10 per kilo to RS 1,115 from over night's closing level of 1,105 and copper scrap heavy rose by Rs 6 per kilo to Rs 377, as against Rs 371 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar firmed up by Rs 5 per kilo each to Rs 383 and Rs 411, as against Rs 378 and Rs 406, respectively. 

Copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 to Rs 361. Copper armiture and brass sheet cutting edged higher by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 363 and Rs 266.

Copper utensils scrap and zinc both inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 347 and Rs 122.

However, nickel fell by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,130 from Rs 1,135 previously and lead softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 110, as against Rs 111 yesterday.
