In an other wise steady wholesale grains market today, rice basmati declined by Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand.
Elsewhere, other commodities traded in a tight range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.
Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to a fall in wholesale rice basmati prices.
In the rice section, basmati common and Pusa -1121 variety prices lost Rs 100 each to Rs 5,150-5,250 and Rs 4,450-4,950 per quintal.
