Bharti Airtel gains on raising 2G, 3G data prices

The 3G charges for 1GB have been raised to Rs 299 and 2G charges for 1GB to Rs 199

Shares of Bharti Airtel were up over 1% on reports that the telecom major has hiked data charges of 2G and 3G services sold on-line by 13-18% for its pre-paid customers.

The 3G charges for 1GB have been hiked to Rs 299 against Rs 255 earlier valid for a period of 28 days.

Further, 2G charges for 1GB has been raised to Rs 199 compared with Rs 176 valid for a period of 28 days.

The stock opended at Rs 408 and touched a high of Rs 418. At 12:35PM, over 2.5 million shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
