The telcos, however, did not provide any guidance on the amount of the hike or the subscriber segments to be impacted by the move.
Analysts see the tariff hikes as a positive for the sector, which has only witnessed tariff cuts since the launch of Reliance Jio in September 2016.
Around the same time, Bharti Airtel was up 5.3 per cent at Rs 430.80. Over 1.4 crore Bharti Airtel shares had changed hands on the NSE and BSE. In comparison, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was trading 0.18 per cent higher at 40,355.
