Sharp fluctuation in the share prices has seen the index oscillate between positive and negative zone in the current trades. The Sensex, which slipped into the red to touch a low of 6,549 on selling in select old economy stocks, has rolled back into the green following gains in tech and banking stocks. It is now up six points at 6,559. The Nifty, however, is down a point at 2,059.The market breadth is positive with 851 gainers and 427 losers.SBI, on volumes of over 5.38 lakh, has advanced 2.27% (Rs 14) to Rs 649. While ICICI Bank is up a per cent (Rs 2) at Rs 364, HDFC Bank is trading lower by a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 556.Infosys has extended its gains by 1.20% (Rs 25) to Rs 2,088. Wipro and Satyam are up with modest gains at Rs 697 and Rs 408, respectively.BHEL is trading firm with a gain of 2.40% (Rs 18) at Rs 775, while Hindalco has added 1.21% (Rs 16) to Rs 1,347. Tata Power has moved up 3.10% (Rs 12) to Rs 391, and Tisco is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 386.Reliance, with a traded volume of over 4.98 lakh, HLL has come under intense selling pressure and has plunged 2.67% (Rs 4) to Rs 164, after recent gains. While Reliance has declined a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 537, ITC, too, has slipped a per cent (Rs 11) to Rs 1,339.Bharti, with a volume of over 6.58 crore, has shed 2.61% (Rs 6) to Rs 217. HDFC has declined 1.33% (Rs 10) to Rs 765. Ranbaxy has lost 1.19% (Rs 13) to Rs 1,058. Other pharma majors are displaying mixed trend.Crompton Greaves, which rose sharply yesterday, has advanced 6.55% (Rs 19) to Rs 317. While Moser has added 5.84% (Rs 12) to Rs 224, Gujarat Gas has gained 4.50% to Rs 679. Colgate, Nirma, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank, Indo Gulf Fertilisers and Bombay Dyeing have gained between 3-4%.Other major gainers include Dhampur Sugar Mills, which has shot up nearly 9% (Rs 12) to Rs 155. While Mid-Day has mopped up 8.60% (Rs 6) to Rs 81, JK Corp has gained 7.62% to Rs 44. Amforge Industries, Tata Teleservices, NDTV and K Sera Sera are up in a range of 5-7%.Alstom Project, however, has slumped 7.21% (Rs 7) to Rs 85, and IFCI has dropped 4.69% to Rs 16. While Berger Paints has lost 4.11% to Rs 42, KEC International has slipped 2.59% to Rs 133.
