Bharti peaks on Q4 results

Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Tele-Ventures touched a new all-time high of Rs 186.20, up 10.9 per cent after the company registered a huge jump in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2004.
 
The counter witnessed an aggressive fund-based buying and the stock managed to close 5.48 per cent higher compared with its previous close of Rs 167.90. More than 54.85 lakh shares changed hands at the BSE.
 
The total revenues also increased by 49.4 per cent to Rs 1,553.27 crore from Rs 1,039.62 crore.
 
A fund manager with a domestic brokerage house said, the results were far above the market expectation and the continued rise in subscriber base in the cellular segment is expected to further improve the company's performance.
