BHEL erases gains, ends down 1.5%

The stock slipped again, to a low of Rs 2,256 and finally ended down 1.5% at Rs 2,273. Over 197,800 shares were traded on the BSE today.

BHEL has added around 2% after bagging orders worth Rs 2,600 crore.

The stock opened at Rs 2,319 and slipped to a low of Rs 2,300. From there the stock surged 3% to touch a high of Rs 2,368. The stock is now trading at Rs 2,349 - up 1.5%. The stock has gained 605% in the past week. Around 60,376 stocks have been traded on the BSE so far.

The state-run power equipment maker has secured an order for main plant package for an upcoming greenfield thermal power project in Orissa. The order is of Rs 2,600 crore from Jindal India Thermal Power.
