Black pepper prices rose at the spices market here today due to brisk buying by stockists and traders amid high export demand.
Meanwhile, copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode moved down on subdued offtake from retailers and millers.
Black pepper gained Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 303/323 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 295/323.
However, copra office Alazpuzha fell by Rs 50 to Rs 6,800 from Rs 6,850, previously. Similarly, copra office Kozhikode declined by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,700 from Rs 6,750.
Other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.
