Block deals worth Rs 45.26 cr struck on Tuesday

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has reported block deals worth Rs 45.26 crore on Tuesday against Rs 80.28 crore on Monday.

On forty-four counters, nearly 1.07 million equity shares changed hands through block deals.

Media scrips were once again in the limelight with block deals taking place in three companies""K Sera Sera Productions (75,000 shares), Jain Studios (64,967 shares) and CMM Broadcasting Network (37,623 shares) on BSE.

The other major block deals on BSE were-Essar Oil (11.95 lakh shares), Suryadeep Salt Refinery (4 lakh), Ashima (3.54 lakh), SRF (3.52 lakh), NIIT Technologies (3.24 lakh), Rain Commodities (1.37 lakh) and Elder Pharma (1.15 lakh).

In such deals in Marson's, Prraneta Industries, FCGL Industries, Tuesday's Writing Products and Lyka Labs, over one lakh equity shares changed hands.

Oppenheimer Funds Inc, one of the foreign institutional investors (FIIs), sold 3.24 lakh equity shares of NIIT Technologies at Rs 153.99 per share.

Equity Intelligence India sold 1.37 lakh shares of Rain Commodities for a total consideration of Rs 61.69 crore. Emerging Capital Advisors sold 57,975 equity shares of Surya Pharmaceuticals at Rs 141.29 per share.
