HCL Technologies ended the day with a marginal gain of 0.47 per cent at Rs 344.40 after it bagged a contract for software and hardware development from the Boeing Company.

While the size of the deal was not known, the order is a multi-year, multi-dollar software development agreement. The market seems to have sensed the deal in advance as the HCL Technologies stock has surged sharply ahead of the announcement.

From a low of Rs 302 on January 17 2005, the stock has appreciated 13.09 per cent to Wednesday's close of Rs 344.40. HCL Technologies said it has been selected by Boeing as a software development partner for the 787 Dreamliner (formerly known as the 7E7) programme.

The 787 integrates diverse leading edge technologies to deliver an environmentally preferred solution with hitherto unmatched efficiency, for medium capacity long-range aircraft.
