Over 36 lakh contracts were traded on the exchange contributing to about 50% of the total trades in the market.
“This is the highest currency derivatives turnover recorded by any exchange in the country so far...The success in the currency derivatives segment can be attributed to the new trading technology at BSE which offers a response time of 200 microseconds,” said a statement from the exchange.

The NSE saw a trading turnover of Rs 20,769 crore in its currency derivatives segment making up about 45% of all turnover in the segment. As many as 32 lakh contracts were traded on the bourse.
On MCX-SX, the total turnover in the segment stood at Rs 2,292 crore bringing the total turnover in the currency derivatives segment to about Rs 46,000 crore.
