BSE revises circuit filter for 16 companies effective today

The BSE has revised the circuit filter for sixteen companies with effect from Tuesday.

The securities whose circuit filters have been revised include Future Retail Ltd. DVR, Electrosteel Castings Ltd and Sequent Scientific Ltd. The circuit filter for the first is 10%, while it is 5% for the third.

In total, the circuit filter of one has been revised to 20%, eight to 10%, four to 5% and three of them to 2%.

“Trading members of the exchange are hereby informed that the circuit filters has/have been changed from their existing levels in the below mentioned scrip/s with effect from April 22, 2014,” said the circular on the BSE website.

A circuit filter limits the movement in the stock’s price to a fixed quantum. The move is generally seen to be a bid to reduce the volatility in the stock.

Other companies whose circuit filter has been revised include Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, Medinova Diagnostic Services, Shantanu Sheorey Aquakult Ltd, Vimta Labs Ltd, Himalya International Ltd, Kallam Spinning Mills Ltd, Mirc Electronics Ltd, Oceanaa Biotek Industries Ltd and Ashima Ltd.
