The BSE Sensex fell on Monday on caution ahead of the start of corporate earnings results and with sentiment hit by weaker Asian shares after U.S. jobs data and falling inflation in China reinforced concerns about the global economy.
Housing Development Finance Corp shares fell 1.2 percent ahead of its earnings results on Wednesday.
The 30-share BSE index provisionally ended down 0.74 percent, while the broader 50-share NSE index fell 0.79 percent.
