Leading bourse BSE today said it will hold a special trading session for gold exchange traded funds on November 11 on the occasion of Dhanteras.
The exchange would hold a special trading session for gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in the cash segment on November 11 from 11 am to 3.30 pm.
There will be no trading in any other product in the equity segment, on that day, the exchange said in a statement.
"On the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, BSE has decided to conduct a special session...For trading in Gold ETFs in the cash segment on Sunday, November 11, 2012," BSE said in a statement.
BSE said it has decided to waive off the transaction charges for all trades done in Gold ETF securities on the day.
National Stock Exchange had also announced that it would conduct a special trading session for gold ETFS on that day.
Dhanteras is considered an auspicious occasion to buy gold, and a lot of trading interest has been observed on that day, in gold ETF's in the past, it added.
Trading in gold ETFs is usually higher on days like Akshaya Tritiya, Dhanteras and during festivals.
