BSE Training Institute (BTIL) today signed an memorandum of understanding with Indira Gandhi National Open University to launch a two-year, full-time MBA specialisation in 'Financial Markets'.

The classes for the course will commence in May 2011, BTIL said in a statement.

"The course being offered is a full-time degree specially designed to suit the requirements of students planning to make a career in financial markets. We plan to cover vital concepts related to exchanges which will help the students spearhead the financial industry," IGNOU Vice-Chancellor V N Rajasekharan Pillai said.

"Our MBA in financial markets is an experiential learning programme, in which one will learn by interacting with the masters in the industry and participating and witnessing live events as they happen," BTIL Managing Director Ambarish Datta said.

BTIL, backed by Bombay Stock Exchange, is the only educational institute in the country offering a specialised course specifically designed for the study of financial markets.
