To make the retail investors more ‘stock market-savvy’, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) held an investor awareness workshop in the UP capital in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).
The session covered aspects of stock market, trading and settlement systems, debt market, dematerialisation of shares, risk management, general safeguard and do’s/don’ts for investors.
BSE has been organising such workshops across India to educate investors about the functioning of the capital and stock markets.
Ishu Tayal of Investor Protection Fund, BSE North India Secretariat, conducted the session and elaborated on the various protections available to investors from BSE.
BSE provides an efficient and transparent market for trading in equity, debt instruments, derivatives and mutual funds. It provides a host of other services to capital market participants including risk management, clearing, settlement, market data services and training.
“The workshop helped people understand the financial market and the impact of inflation, industrial output and foreign investment on the stock markets,” Chamber resident director Brig Amitabha said.

The experts also discussed the current stock market scenario in the aftermath of the downtrend in the financial markets.
“BSE systems and processes are designed to safeguard market integrity, drive the growth of the Indian capital market and stimulate innovation and competition across all market segments,” Tayal said.
