Tata Steel has slumped 4.3% to Rs 788. Ambuja Cements and Wipro have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 116 and Rs 428, respectively.
Reliance has shed 3.7% at Rs 2,443, and Larsen & Toubro has dropped 3.5% to Rs 3,517.
ONGC and Infossy have slipped 3.3% each to Rs 1,005 and Rs 1,548, respectively.
ICICI Bank and Hindalco have dropped nearly 3% each to Rs 1,072 and Rs 198, respectively.
Reliance Communications, ACC and BHEL are down around 2.5% each at Rs 569, Rs 788 and Rs 2,268, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti have rallied around 2% each to Rs 693 and Rs 852, respectively. Bajaj Auto has advanced over 1% to Rs 2,245.
Out of 2,597 stocks traded so far, 1,603 have declined, 934 have advanced and 60 are unchanged.
