The Sensex opened with a strong positive gap of 24 points at 6,181 and rallied past the 6,200-mark on steep rally in heavyweights and other select counters. After clocking an early high of 6,259, the Sensex is now up 101 points at 6,258. The Nifty, too, has scaled up in early trades with a surge of 28 points at 1,956.SBI has advanced 1.25% (Rs 8) to Rs 629. While HDFC Bank has added 1.29% (Rs 7) to Rs 530, ICICI Bank is up 1.40% (Rs 6) at Rs 397.Satyam has shot up 2.22% (Rs 8) to Rs 391. Infosys and Wipro are marginally up at Rs 1,950 and Rs 604, respectively.Tata Motors has surged 3.69% (Rs 15) to Rs 425. While Maruti has gained 2.91% (Rs 12) to Rs 417, Hero Honda has logged 2% gains (Rs 10) to Rs 507.Reliance and ONGC are up with steady gains at Rs 529 and Rs 845, respectively. HLL is up a rupee at Rs 131.Bharti has shot up 4% (Rs 8) to Rs 212, while HPCL has jumped 2.72% (Rs 9) to Rs 331.
