As per reports, the company has been granted a six-month extension by the Indian government for its exploration operations in north-west India.
The company recently won a licence to explore oil and natural gas in Sri Lanka's Mannar Basin. The blazing crude prices, that have reached a record $137.37 a barrel, further fuelled the stock's rise.
