Shares of capital goods companies are in limelight at the bourses and have rallied for the fourth consecutive day on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Larsen and Toubro (L&T), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), ABB, Crompton Greaves, Usha Martin and Suzlon Energy from the capital goods space trading higher by 1-3% today on the BSE.
The BSE capital goods index outperformed the other sectoral indices by gaining 7.4% in past four trading sessions, compared to 3.1% gain the benchmark index Sensex. L&T and BHEL have rallied 9-10% since December 30, 2011.
As per a Business Standard Research Bureau study, India Inc has registered an 18% quarter-on-quarter growth in order flows during the third quarter (ended December) led by strong orders registered by power equipment manufacturers.
