Cardamom prices fell further by Rs 17.40 to Rs 1,432 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July declined by Rs 17.40, or 1.20%, to Rs 1,432 per kg, with a business turnover of 133 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in August declined by Rs 10.40, or 0.77%, to Rs 1,325 per kg, with a trading volume of 437 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position also kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade.
