Cardamom prices fell by Rs 20.60 to Rs 1,095.40 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators booked profits on increased fresh crop arrivals into the spot market.
At the MCX, cardamom for delivery in May declined by Rs 20.60, or 1.84%, to Rs 1,095.40 per kg in a business turnover of 1,369 lots.
The April contract shed Rs 22.10, or 1.83%, to Rs 1,180 per kg, with a trading volume of 204 lots.
Market analysts said speculators booking profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market with fresh arrivals mainly kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade.
