Cardamom prices fell by Rs 26.60 to Rs 905.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

Increased arrivals from producing regions kept pressure on cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for September plunged by Rs 26.60, or 2.85%, at Rs 905.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,235 lots.

October cardamom declined by Rs 21.30, or 2.09%, to Rs 997 per kg, with a trading volume of 390 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing higher prices, increased arrivals from the producing regions put pressure on the cardamom prices in futures trade.
