Cardamom prices declined by Rs 7.60 to Rs 766 per kg in futures trade today owing to slackness in demand at existing higher levels.
Adequate stocks position on increased arrivals in the spot market from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices at the futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July delivery softened by Rs 7.60, or 0.98%, to Rs 766 per kg, with a business turnover of 93 lots.
Similarly, the spice for September delivery shed 80 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 862.80 per kg, with an open interest of 79 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators, driven by subdued spot markets demand at existing high levels, mainly led to decline in cardamom futures prices.
