Cardamom prices continued to slide for the third straight day by losing Rs 30.10, or 2.66 per cent, more to Rs 1,102.40 per kg in futures trade today on subdued spot market demand against increased arrivals from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October month fell by Rs 30.10, or 2.66 per cent, to Rs 1,102.40 per kg with an open interest of 1,202 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August-month declined by Rs 26.90, or 1.84 per cent, to Rs 1,437.90 per kg with a business turnover of 15 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing higher levels against increased arrivals in the physical markets led to a decline in cardamom prices in futures trade.
