Cardamom prices fell by Rs 32.60 to Rs 1,056.90 per kg in futures trade today owing to sluggish demand at existing higher levels.
Fresh arrivals in the spot market from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices at the futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June fell by Rs 32.60, or 3% to Rs 1,054 per kg, with a business turnover of 117 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May shed Rs 31.90, or 3% to Rs 1,030.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 270 lots.
Cardamom futures prices for delivery in July moved down by Rs 31.50, or 2.91% to Rs 1,048 per kg, with a trade volume of 48 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing higher levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to a decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
