Cardamom prices fell by Rs 24.80 to Rs 801.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid sluggish demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, July contract for cardamom fell by Rs 24.80, or three per cent, to Rs 801.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 194 lots.
Similarly, August contract for the spice eased by Rs 25.50, or 2.96%, at Rs 835 per kg, with a business turnover of 104 lots.
Cardamom prices for delivery in September moved down by Rs 22.50, or 2.54%, to Rs 861 per kg, with a business volume of 65 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing high levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
