Cardamom prices drifted by Rs 16 to Rs 1,522 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by the fall in spot demand.
Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from the producing regions further dampened the sentiment in cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, cardamom for January-month fell by Rs 16, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 1,522 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in February declined by Rs 16, or 1.01 per cent to Rs 1,560.50 per kg, with a business volume of two lots.
Marketmen said fall in demand in spot market against increased arrivals from Southern producing regions helped in pulling down cardamom futures prices.
