Cardamom prices declined by Rs 5.40, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 1,065.10 per kg in futures trade today on emergence of profit-booking at existing higher levels amid subdued demand.
Fresh arrivals in physical markets from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices at the futures market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for October-month declined by Rs 5.40, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 1,065.10 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded marginally down by Rs 0.60, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 1,042.00 per kg in single lot.
Analysts said profit-booking at existing higher levels, against fresh arrivals in markets mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
