Amid rising domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, cardamom prices were up 0.76% to Rs 812 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month December moved by Rs 6.10, or 0.76% to Rs 812 per kg in business turnover of 47 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 5.40, or 0.69%, to Rs 786 per kg in 121 lots.

Market analysts said besides rising demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
