Cardamom remained weak and shed another Rs 1.60 to Rs 851.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their holdings, largely in tandem with weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand amid adequate stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August delivery eased by Rs 1.60, or 0.19%, to Rs 851.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 128 lots.

Similarly, the spice for September delivery traded lower by Rs 1.10, or 0.12%, to Rs 893.30 per kg, with a trade volume of 52 lots.

Analysts said speculators reduced their positions amid weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand, leading to a fall in cardamom futures prices.
