Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 1,680 per kg today, as traders enlarged their positions on expectations of pick up in demand at physical markets against restricted arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for August-month rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 1,680 per kg, with an open interest of 1,213 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September gained Rs 5.40, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,525 per kg, with an open interest of 2,097 lots.
Analysts said expectations that demand may pick up at the physical markets ahead of festival season mainly influenced the cardamom prices at futures market here.
