Cardamom prices rose by Rs 14.3 or 0.96 per cent to Rs 1,497 per kg in futures market today on good demand at spot markets on account of the ongoing marriage season.
Restricted arrivals from the producing regions also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for June contract rose Rs 14.30, or 0.96 per cent to Rs 1,497 per kg, with an open interest of 1,601 lots.
The spice for delivery in August-month contract also gained Rs 8, or 0.59 per cent to Rs 1,370 per kg, with a business turnover of 291 lots.
Analysts said rising demand at spot markets supported by ongoing marriage season, against restricted arrivals from the Southern producing regions led to a rise in cardamom prices at futures market here.
