Cardamom prices rose by Rs 30.40 to Rs 1,773 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand at spot markets against limited arrivals.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August month rose by Rs 30.40, or 1.74 per cent to Rs 1,773 per kg with an open interest of 1,315 lots.
Similarly, the spice for July-month shot up by 30, or 1.93 per cent to Rs 1,581 per kg in 2,225 lots.
Analysts said rising demand at the physical markets against restricted arrivals from the producing regions led an upsurge in cardamom prices at futures trade.
